Roy Lee “Booster” Reid, age 97, of Thomasville, AL, died February 19, 2014 at his home. He was born July 24, 1916 in Thomasville, AL. Booster was employed by Chevron Gas Company for 50 years. He retired at age 79. He was a member of the Elam Baptist Church for 79 years years, were he served as chairman of deacons for 22 years, church clerk for 49 years and Sunday School teacher for 46 years. He loved to work in his garden and his main passion was turkey hunting. He is surved by his daughter, Barbara (Robert) Smith of Thomasville, AL; two granddaughters, Melissa (Woodie) Newton and Jaclyn (Johnny) Pugh of Thomasville, AL; four great grandchildren, Grant (Jamie) Newton, Andrew Newton, Justin Browder, James Browder, one great-great grandchild, Kade Newton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Pugh Reid. Visitation will be held at Elam Baptist Church on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service time with Rev.
